Celebrate the Magic of Winter this January with Banff SnowDays happening now. Anyone who has visited Banff any time of year will know this mountain town looks like a scene from a postcard. Join the festive winter fun with FREE events, happening now until January 27th. Whether you’ve seen an ice sculpture before or not, this is a must-see event for anyone heading to Banff National Park, located at the beautiful Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise. Check out masterpieces from the International Ice Carving Competition, and explore ice castles, ice bars and ice carving. Lots of fun events throughout the week including the ‘One Hour, One Block, One Carver Speed Event’. Come mid-week or before 10AM or after 5:30PM on weekends for free admission.
For the duration of the festival participating restaurants and distilleries will be serving up an exclusive cocktail menu, featuring cocktails crafted from the best local ingredients. Take a walk along Bear Street on January 26th & 27th to experience the two-day discovery event featuring stalls from nine craft distilleries and nine local bars and restaurants. Meet the personalities behind your favourite craft cocktails in Banff Lake Louise. Purchase tokens for $1 to sample food and drinks at the event.
A family favourite - join the fun at Banff Winter Carnival! Recreating the magic from the original carnival in 1917, this awesome event returning to Banff is the spirit of Winter fun! Lots of exciting family activities to be enjoyed including curling and wacky outdoor games, you can also travel back in time to one century ago with the films from the original carnival. Begins Wednesday, January 23rd 11AM - 5PM.
Try your hand at this Canadian Classic Winter Sport at the Banff Curling Club for just $25. Tickets include rentals, instruction and ice use. Wednesday, January 23rd & Sunday, January 27th from 6PM – 7:30PM & 7:30PM – 9PM
Get your skate on with this awesome family friendly skate party at Banff Community High School. In partnership with Snowtips-Bactrax, enjoy music from special guest DJs and free skate rental is available on site. Saturday, January 26th & Sunday, January 27th 12PM-4PM
See first hand the magic of snow carving right in the centre of Banff. Beautiful Snow Sculptures from the Snow Carving Competition earlier in the week are available to view in Banff Avenue Square and on Bear Street.
